Pan's Labyrinth

Just saw the movie Pan's Labyrinth. Stunning, breathtaking visuals, enchanting and immersive. One of my favorite movies this year.

It is remarkable in many ways:

  • The name Moana :-D
  • The subtle integration of different genres (war, fantasy, drama, thriller)
  • It reminded me of some of my favorite movies like Citizen Kane, A Nightmare on Elm Street, La Vita è Bella and Dancer in the Dark with themes like dreams, demons, redemption, love, inner convictions/beliefs, purpose, imagination and individuality
  • The intertwining of virtual and real worlds (augmented reality, mixed reality, virtual worlds anyone ?)

Recommended.

I would like to see this movie, but here in Holland it plays only in a few cinemas... so I have to wait for the DVD :(

Check Mirrormask, nice one 2.

Funny, just now I notice you've seen it too! Great!

Very nice movie!
